Tom Grant
Guitar Tutor in Leeds and Bradford
I am a member of the Registry of Guitar Tutors and have been teaching the Guitar (electric and acoustic) for over ten years. I mainly teach from my home in Bramley, Leeds in my dedicated music room but I also travel to the following areas; Bramley, Kirkstill, Headingley, Burley, Stanningley, Rodley, Pudsey, Horsforth, Farnley, Farsley, Hawsworth, Woodhouse and Bradford
I also teach for The School of Rock and Pop which teaches pupils in schools (both Primary and secondary), Leeds Art Forms for Leeds City Council and the Farnley Academy.
During my school years I started teaching my friends for free after school. This is when I really discovered my passion for teaching the guitar and from there I decided that I was going to turn it into a career. This is when I decided to further my knowledge in music and my guitar playing ability.
EDUCATION
I studied BTEC Music Practice Diploma at West Notts College before going on to study Music Performance BA(Hons) at Leeds Metropolitan. In both of these qualifiactions I studied: Music Performance, Music Theory, Recording Techniques, Composition, Improvisation and Experimental Music. I have also completed a teacher training course with Pacific Recruitment PLC and I'm fully CRB Checked
MUSIC INDUSTRY
In my time in the Music Industry I have played in many different bands with many different styles including: Rock, Indie, Funk, Blues, Pop and Metal. I am currently in a local band which has toured up and down the country. During this time I have played in such venues as: 02 Islington London, Cockpit Leeds, The Cavern Club Liverpool, 360 Club. I have also played on live Radio for BBC Radio Leeds and Mansfield Radio.
I'm also a session musician and have played on multiple records and albums that have been sold on iTunes and high street stores.

GUITAR MAKING
In 2004 I had the opportunity to build my own guitar. I wanted a guitar that not only played and sounded amazing but also looked different to most other guitars; so I decided to make the guitar head-less. I was able to build a guitar that was suited to me in every detail; the fret board was sanded down to fit my hands perfectly and the body was also designed to make it comfortable for me while playing sat down.
